Meet Dax! This little six pounder was born 5 days ago and he is absolutely adorable! Mom, Britnie, allowed me to invade her house in Little Rock for a photoshoot. Often times newborn shoots can take several hours. You know feedings, soothing, diaper changes, more feedings, and even more soothing. Not this charmer. He was perfect. By far the easiest newborn session to date. He slept the entire time and allowed me to mold him however I pleased. Could it have had something to do with the fact that he was up the entire night before??? Okay I admit little Mr. Perfect did had one little accident in his Bear Bryant hat... sorry dad maybe he is a Razorback fan.

These shots are of my long time best friend Kelly, her husband Jeff and her almost one year old Isabel. I have been telling Kelly for months that she had to quit neglecting having their portraits done and just let me do it. So, today I met Kel and Jeff for a quick shoot. I am so proud of her for doing it. I know she did it more for me than anything since I am constantly on her to do it. I do know that she has been meaning to do it... she is just a busy momma! Isabel turns one in January so these serve as her one year portraits and will probably be the only family portraits these three take before they become four in late April. Enjoy!

Okay, so I posted a lot of images of this fun family! How could I not? There were just so many great shots of this very easy going fivesome. Most days I would say, poor dad... Three little girls under the age of 6, in a house filled with pretty much enough hormones to drive most men crazy but not this dad. It was clear as day that he is as happy as can be with his house full of women. I just love when I get a family that is just themselves. Check out this dreamboat! I have been photographing this little 21 month old spitfire since he was a tiny newborn. Spitfire is an understatement. I have never seen a little guy with so much energy. He is like the energizer bunny!

I have had these photos edited for a few days now but wanted to surprise his mom, Robin, with a little birthday post. Happy birthday to one of the most kind hearted persons and sweetest moms I know. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek of Gunnar! Hope you have a wonderful birthday too!

Check out these dreamboats! I mean really, have you ever seen three boys more perfectly handsome then these three? Jackson, Jordan, and Jared... all blond, all cute, and all are all boy! I have been photographing this family since the oldest was a baby! I look forward to our yearly portrait sessions so much because it is always so fun to capture how these boys have changed. However, this year was humbling... Jackson, the oldest, turned 9 and that only means one thing... I am getting old to have been photographing him since he was a baby.

Check out this adorable family! At almost one, this poor little thing was sick with a bad cough and dripping nose so mom asked to just meet at their place for the shoot. I was a little nervous since I shoot with all natural light. After all I have never been to their home and "blind" shoots make me feel ill-prepared. Thankfully they had great digs and even better, they had a room full of light. As you can see (especially in the first image, which is my favorite) this little one is the center of their life and brings so much excitement and happiness to them. Thank you for having me to your home to meet and photograph your family and also thank you Alicia and Payton for referring me to your in-laws!

We met in the Sodo District at a great loft... its in the family and it is to die for. I dream of a place like this to call my studio some day but these places don't exist in Arkansas nor do they exist on my beer budget. This loft is a fine wine with a fine interior of rustic wooden beams, gorgeous old wood floors, exposed brick and character that is charming and warm. Charming and warm much like this cute little family. I knew momma from high school as well as her hubby. Their little one is turning one and he is a mover. Might be my busiest little one to shoot to date but he did well! Dad is a photographer (click HERE for his work) and talks some mean photography lingo so to be honest I am nervous! I hope I do not disappoint. Despite dark lighting I really think this sneak peek shows just who this family is and how much they love each other! Meet the Meyer's. This adorable family pulls up and out pops Madeleine and Max, I mean Dora and Diego... well that was who they were today. Three year olds and twins! You have to love their minds. These two were on the move from the get go. I must say I was prepared for spunk but I did not know I would get spunky parents too. Mom's smile is contagious don't you think? And her new do left me wanting to chop mine. Then there was Dad... I usually have to sweet talk dads into relaxing and interacting with the kiddos and wife but not this one. He did great... no sweet talk required. Okay and I must say that the first image kills me. It leaves me wishing I were a twin or had twins (okay not really) but it leaves me feeling gushy! Close friend and Yoga instructor, Crystal asked if I would come snap some shots of her doing some yoga poses. So today I joined her after her classes for a quick photoshoot. Despite cracking each other up we got some really good stuff. Crystal has worked really hard to hone her craft and I think it shows. Not many of us can put ourselves into the contorted positions she does and live to tell about it. Love you Crys!

Watch out world... three sisters, had three little ones and these little ones are to die for!

Today I met up with Shay and Thad and their cute little one Hayden for a family portrait session. What an easy breezy family and so excited to be out for a shoot despite the nip in the air. That session was followed by a mini session with Shay's niece Addison and nephew Logan. Then we did another quick mini shoot with Shay and her two sisters Lara (Addison's mom) and Jenna (Logan's mom). It goes with out saying that these three sisters have three of the cutest kids around! I am making nice! It has almost been 2 full months since the Whitsell/Brown wedding and they still have not received a single image from me. The bride is a friend of mine and is also a photographer herself so we both kind of said no rush on getting the images edited but seriously something that normally takes me 4-6 weeks has turned into 8! Well I am finally finished editing the Whitsell wedding and the bride and groom will be enjoying their images shortly since their discs are being mailed today. Eli is not quite 2 months, try more like 6 weeks but these shots are going to count as his two month portraits. Today I had the privilege of watching little Eli while Sarah (his momma) had a dentist appointment. He was a piece of cake and Cohen loved him to pieces rubbing his belly and tickling his toes. I couldn't help but also take a few of the future best friends snuggling together either. This is a surprise for Sarah... she knew I took some shots but didn't really know I treated it as session. Check out little Lily! On Thursday I traveled down to Little Rock to meet this bundle. Beautiful coloring, tiny features and just all around cute. Thanks to these easy going parents and nice warm bath and feeding before my arrival Lily was out like a light for the first part of the shoot and such an ease to work with. Introducing Eli Dale... This little guy is 7 days old exactly and was born at 8lbs 7 ounces. His momma Sarah is a close friend of mine and she and her husband Sean where often my life saver as I transitioned into being a new mom with the arrival of Cohen 15 months ago. His older sister and brother, Kaelee and Owen are by far Cohen's best friends! I only hope that Cohen and Eli become best friends too!

It was a long wait for Eli! I think I can speak for this family that was well worth the wait for this perfectly cute and totally precious little guy. Enjoy the pictures!

Check out these two adorable little girls. Emily Kate is 2 with perfect skin and tight curls. Parker is 5 and has already had visits from the tooth fairy. Here is a little sneaky peekie for the Powell family. Jenna, Brad and son Logan were so easy breezy... just another day at the office. It made for easy picture taking and a lot of great images. Jenna and I have known each other since elementary school. Probably the first grade. Although it had been well over 15 years since I had seen her we both still remembered so much about growing up and each others families. It was great to meet her little one Logan who has the same typ of energy and contagious smile that I remember Jenna having as a little girl. All grown up this momma is the ultimate mom to Logan and it shows in how much he loves to hug and kiss her... and Dad too! Prepare yourselves! This is by far the most images I have ever posted to one blog post! How could I not though?

Meet Bennette and Jocelyn Whitsell, formally Jocelyn Brown. Jocelyn is a close friend of Jeremy and mine and a fellow photographer so that would explain the massive amounts of photography you see below. It was an honor to be Jocelyn and Bennette's photographer for their big day. It is a complement that she accepted my request (I really threw myself at her) to let me shoot her wedding. I wanted to give her a gift that would last forever because Ryan, Jocelyn's twin brother has given Jeremy the gift of a best friend for almost a lifetime.

So the wedding... It was like a wonderland! Simple, natural, nothing forced about it. The theme, well sweet summer is how I would describe it. Wood fired pizza, mason jars, jam, bold patterns and colors, string lights, pompoms, beverages, lemons, more beverages, dancing all night and on and on. Jocelyn is by far one of the most creative people I know so no wonder her wedding was perfectly thought through and executed just the way she envisioned it!

Congrats to the two of you. The wedding was wonderful, the wedding party was a blast, the celebration was even better! Enjoy your sneak peek. It may take a year to get through all the editing but you will get your images. I promise!!!

Whitsell Wedding Day Details

Martha doesn't have anything on Jocelyn. This bride pulled out all the stops and did most all the work herself and definetly saw and created her vision successfully! From homemade jam as a take home thank you to her guests, to the linens with pattern and color so bold and so perfect. Oh, and the strings of lights, pompoms, drinks served in mason jars, to the most perfectly me (and I guess her because she too is a photog) Polaroid phootboth with funny hats, glasses and noses. Those Polaroids now have become her guest book. Adorable cupcakes instead of wedding cake... I could go on! The entire wedding was simply simple, tied together and so summertime sweet!

Meet Justin and Cassie Stolmeier and their adorable little one! Justin is a long time childhood friend of Jeremy's who I have not seen in at least 8 years. So when Justin sent me an email asking if I would be interested in helping him out by photographing a little event he and his wife had planned I reworked my schedule to make it happen.

Last week they celebrated their 4th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows. It was a cute little ceremony that was totally relaxed followed by a fun reception and pictures at Dry Soda down in Pioneer Square. Thanks you too for asking me to be a part of your day. It was fun!

This sneak peek has taken entirely too long for me to post. The momma of these four has been waiting patiently for a glimpse of what these trouble makers helped me to create. To be honest I thought I had maybe a few good shots but nothing special as I left the shoot. I mean really, how can I capture a great image with four kids, one of which a 1 year old... goes without explanation, 2 of which are boys that just want to play (go figure), and then their was the oldest girl, who was able to take direction and to know surprise she knew she needed to smile and look when we would say cheese? Really these four were fun, full of energy, needed to be bribed like all kids, and each had a unique personality which shows in each image!

Well to my surprise there were a ton of great shots which is why I am not done editing yet. However the sneak peek has to happen so here it is. Enjoy these four, they will wear you out in a good way! Thanks Karissa for your patience, hope they are worth the wait!

I am still catching up on my editing. Editing is hard for me. I can never seem to pick just a handful. Especially with the Jorgenson's and their one year old Issac and his cousin Audrey, who is just a bit older than Issac. Issac is all boy... sticks, rocks, dirt and even a skinned up knee. Here we have Ms. London Noelle... She is as perfect as I expected her to be. She is one of my closest friends (from my days in Minnesota) newest arrival. At just shy of a month old this petite, long skinny fingered, bright eyed girl already knows she is boss. She started out stubborn but eventually relaxed allowing me to capture some great images. Peyton and Alicia could not have gotten it more perfect. I just love this little girl and as I expected she has her proud poppa smitten over her. It was great to finally meet her. So these two make it look easy because they are real with each other. They show up relaxed, anything goes, and thirty minutes later I have what I need and they are off. Last Sunday Cheryl and her fiance' "Jer" met me in Seattle for their engagement session. These two will wed this September and I am fortunate enough to be their photographer. So here I am in Seattle and I haven't put my camera down. This will be one of the first of my sneak peeks from a handful of sessions I have done over the past few days.

Meet sweet Sophia! The newest addition to the Mader family. All three weeks of her... wide eyed, strong necked, and not a complaint in the world. She did not fuss once as I molded and posed her. We even tried some new creative poses that did not really work but it was fun trying, so thank you Angie for allowing me to use your little one as Ginnie Pig so to speak. Enjoy the sneak peek. {Sneak Peek} Wear Twins!

Back in May I met the Wear family for the first time. Sara was 31 weeks pregnant and looked amazing. Now, three weeks post delivery of twins, she is looking as though she never even gave birth. I don't need to even comment on how lucky she is to look like she does, it just goes without saying! Today I finally met the twins... Addison and Aiden! Reaching the 6 pound mark (born just shy of four weeks early) these two are tiny little beans with tiny features, and long skinny figures. A little poop and a lot of pee later I came a way with a lot of great images. Thanks Kevin and Sara for all your patience and for allowing me to photograph your little ones. They are perfect!

Meet Jarrod and Brookelyn and their follicly gifted and perfectly cute 7 month old son Aven. This funky little family was a blast to hang out with. They were so easy going which explains why Aven is so chill and go with the flow. He was perfect the entire time, even in the 95 degree heat with humidity. So I overly shared in this sneak peak but I have so many great shots I just had to!

I believe in happenchance... I met Brookelyn at a Northwest Naturals baseball game a few weeks back. We just happened to be in the season ticket holders lounge (neither one of us are ticket holders, oh well) cooling off and getting ready to change diapers. A little mom talk later and here we are, Brookelyn is making Cohen handmade baby bracelets (pics to follow, they are awesome) and I am paparazing her hubby and lil' man. I love happenchances!

NCAA Track National Championships

So NW Photography Works is out at the NCAA Track National Championships being held in Fayetteville, AR on the campus of the University of Arkansas'. We are shooting for the University of Minnesota. Mother of 3 little boys and she is expecting her 4th child this July. She is finally having the little girl she has been waiting for. Caylee battles with an autoimmune disorder that leaves her feeling like she cannot get out of bed some days yet she does and does with a smile! Oh and did I mention that she has not had professional photos taken ever with any of her children. Usually its just the kiddos. Taking a page from an old friend... Shelby Nicole, I decided to do my very first give away in honor of Mother's Day.

Here is how it works....

Send an email nominating a wife, friend, sister, mother, aunt, god mother... the catch is they have to be a MOM. Tell me why they deserve to win a free photo shoot with their mom, grandparent, or child(ren). (They get to choose)

So husbands nominate your wives, girls nominate your best friends, brothers nominate your mom. What do you have to loose?

Included in this free photo shoot is an 8x10 and 5x7 of your choosing and of course you can purchase additional prints if you want. This is an offer worth $75 (session fee) plus $37 worth of prints.

I will be in Seattle in July and September and December, as well as Minneapolis for weekend in July and September. I will also be in Little Rock in June and again in August and September and of course I am in NW Arkansas in between!

I try not to post too many images of Cohen on my NWPW blog but after his 11 month session I could not resist! I swear this picture just screams toddler... Where has my baby gone? He has been walking with ease for over a month now and the other night he climbed to the top of a picnic table and scared us half to death. Should an 11 month old be able to do that? This kid is going to be the death of me, not just because he is so charming but because he is a total terd!

Wide Eyed Kiara

Meet little Miss Kiara Elise, all 5lbs 14oz of her. This little 10 day old was as alert as could be. Her tired parents said that she naps all day and rarely sleeps at night. Well, Friday's shoot was the entire opposite. We waited and waited, fed, and rocked this little bean and right when she would nod off she would wake right up. She is already a trickster! I never did get to mold her to get those great sleepy shots but she did give in and cooperate to allow me to get some really great images. Kiara is a danty little thing and just as tiny and cute as could be! Enjoy!

Fiser Wedding Rocked... Literally!

I have finally made it through most of the Fiser wedding. What a ridiculously beautiful couple, huh? They make for wonderful photographs that is for sure! The Fiser wedding was a smash hit from start to finish. They even ended the night with an outdoor mini concert at the River Market where their two favorite bands played for all their guest. These two, know how to make a wedding a celebratory party and not just a couple hours of cake and dj's! You guys rock :)

Ian Does Little Rock

This cute little bean is Ian. He is five months and may be one of the most easy going and laid back little guys that I have ever photographed. I am sure it is because his parents are super laid back themselves, which made for great photographs. Thanks guys!
